Player Props
Player props isolate a single athlete's statistical performance: passing yards, three-pointers made, shots on goal, hits, strikeouts. They are the fastest-growing market in US sports betting and the foundation of most Same Game Parlays.

Maine's College Prop Ban
Under LD 585, sportsbooks in Maine are prohibited from offering player props on Maine-based college athletes. You can bet the Maine Black Bears on the spread, total, or moneyline — but not on a specific player's stats. The rule protects student-athletes from targeted action. Out-of-state college props remain available.
How to Read a Prop Line
A line of Drake Maye Passing Yards O/U 245.5 (-115) means the over needs 246 or more yards and pays at -115. Books shade props heavily based on betting volume — late-week line movement on props is usually sharper than market-opening prices.
Smart Prop Strategy
- Compare books. The same prop can sit at 245.5 at Caesars and 248.5 at DraftKings — that 3-yard difference is significant.
- Focus on volume stats. Yardage and shot props are more predictable than touchdown or goal props.
- Watch for late scratches. Books void or refund props if a player doesn't take the field, but timing matters.
